Sharon DeMark

“I worked for many years in the performing arts and through those experiences witnessed over and over again the magical power of people working together to solve problems and make something beautiful. Working at The Saint Paul & Minnesota Community Foundations offers me an opportunity to collaborate on a much bigger stage as we pull together to create a vibrant community for all.”

As program officer, Sharon supports the work of nonprofit organizations throughout the metro and the state. Sharon is responsible for reviewing grantmaking in several key areas, including arts and humanities, disabilities, older adults, legal services, and food and nutrition.

Sharon joined The Saint Paul & Minnesota Community Foundations in 2007. She brought 25 years of prior experience managing performing arts education programs in the Twin Cities and New York City. Sharon received her master’s in arts administration from the University of Wisconsin and her bachelor’s in creative drama from the University of Virginia.

When she is not working toward a stronger, more vibrant community, Sharon sees as much theater and live music as she can. She also loves writing poetry and plays, spending time with her husband and son and watching the Packers win.
