received a grant of $15,000 for the Leadership Transition Project. The A.M. Chisholm Museum, Inc. operates as the Duluth Children’s Museum. One of the first children’s museums in the country, the organization opened in 1930 as a resource for teachers, school children and families to learn more about their world neighbors. The Duluth Children’s Museum offers year-round programming and outreach activities conducted in area communities. This grant will support the museum’s transition to new leadership. In 2004, the museum’s board of directors adopted a plan to separate curatorial and administrative responsibilities through the creation of a CEO position. During the next three years, the organization will conduct an analysis of organizational needs, review examples of succession plans by other cultural organizations, and recommend a process for leadership succession. The plan will include the design of a permanent management structure and a process for recruiting and hiring future executive leadership. received a grant of $300,000 to help endow the Fund for Artistic and Institutional Advancement. The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra Society was founded in 1959. Known as one of the world’s major orchestras and the nation’s only full-time professional chamber orchestra, the Society specializes in presenting classic and contemporary repertoires not ordinarily performed by large symphonies. The Chamber Orchestra exists to provide innovative discovery and distinctive experience through the brilliant performance and vigorous advocacy of the chamber orchestra and chamber music repertoire. The $12 million Advancement Fund will serve as a five-year bridge to allow the Society to drastically reduce its structural deficit, while growing the endowment and moving toward financial robustness without having to make additional organizational cuts or negatively impact artistic quality. received a grant of $10,000 to help finance educational program outreach in Greater Minnesota. Teatro del Pueblo, Inc. was established in 1992 by a group of Latino artists and individuals as a community-based theatre located on the West Side of Saint Paul. Teatro is committed to promoting social change through theatre. In conjunction with each production, the theatre provides a forum for its audiences to discuss social issues and explore Latino culture and history. This grant will allow Teatro to increase the number of hours for the Educational Outreach Coordinator from 20 to 30 hours per week to improve and promote educational outreach in Greater Minnesota.
